Welcome to the Central Manchester Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale...

On Wednesday 26th February, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, at the Town Hall Tavern. We will be selecting our 2025 Pub of The Year as well as the Cider Pub of The Year

Our 2024 Pub of the Year is City Arms. The certificate was presented on Wednesday 1st May.

Our 2024 Cider Pub of the Year is Marble Arch. Presentation date will be posted here asap.

We had a Beer Festival! 10th-12th November at 53Two. Worked very well and we are looking for a venue for another one - but possibly not this year due to the logistics. If you know of a potential venue (Irish World Heritage Centre is one we are looking at) get in touch

Campaigns

A previous campaign we ran was to save the Sir Ralph Abercrombie from demolition! Read an article about it here Sir Ralph Abercrombie. The article is by Tim Field a CAMRA Member from Trafford & Hulme Branch who aided our Campaign with some significant input.

We also ran a Campaign to save Britons Protection. Following a long and hard fought fight to retain the independence of the BP by the previous Management team they have now relinquished their lease on the BP due to the financial commitment fighting to retain it's Star "independence". The BP has now reverted back into Star management/lease with a new manager/team in place.

We await to see what will happen to the pub, particularly the Whiskey selection etc., but we understand that the selection/collection belonged to the previous Management Team and is no longer with the pub. Meanwhile there has been some refurbishment of the pub that has been welcomed.
