Welcome to the Central Manchester branch of CAMRA

Welcome to the Central Manchester branch of CAMRA

The Dark nights have rolled in, there is definitely a chill in the air and the shops have started playing Christmas music.  This can only mean that we are heading to the best event of the year – the Greater Manchester Beer and Cider festival 2020.

Check out the link below for more information:

Merry Christmas to all our members and visitors who have helped make 2019 a smashing year for beer!

IF the thought of being dragged around town shopping for gifts, fills you with anything but Christmas cheer, then why not plan in a couple of visits to one of the great pubs in the area.

Whatever your drink, our pubs have got you covered, and it’ll cost you a lot less than the overpriced stuff they’ll sell you on the Christmas markets…

This is the website for the Central Manchester branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). We campaign for Real Ale, Cider and Perry, and Pubs and Clubs in the city centre of Manchester.

Manchester Beer and Cider Festival 2020

About Us

For a long time, campaigning for CAMRA interests in Manchester city centre was traditionally split between the eight Greater Manchester branches.

In 2016 at a regional meeting, it was recognised that the city centre would be best served with its own dedicated branch of CAMRA.  And so the Central Manchester branch was born.

The Central Manchester branch was full of ambition and within the first four months of existence, held our first beer and cider festival at the People’s History Museum.

We continue to go from strength to strength, our diverse team of keen volunteers are proud to campaign for local Pubs and Clubs, putting real ale and cider at the heart.

Formed in 1971 by four like minded, real ale enthusiasts who shared a disappointment with the increasingly poor quality of beer, CAMRA campaigns to have good quality real ales, ciders and perries and to have thriving pubs and clubs in every community.

CAMRA is an independent consumer campaign and our campaign objectives are set by our membership.

Campaigns are run nationally, regionally and locally.  Nationally, CAMRA produces the Great British Beer Festival, the Good Beer Guide, the Champion Beer of Britain Awards and the Pub of the Year Award.

Thanks to the way Branches are structured, when you join the campaign you have the opportunity to join your nearest branch (e.g. Central Manchester) and get involved in the local campaigns social activities and beer festivals.

Central Manchester CAMRA has a number of campaigns and events, such as the Central Manchester beer Festival, Pub of the Year Awards and regular socials.  If you want to get involved, please contact us or see our memberships page.
