Originally opened in December 2014 but was refurbished in March 2024. This is a pub conversion from a longstanding building. Up to 5 beers from Hydes Brewery are served. This bar and boutique hotel is named after a former mayor of Manchester, the town hall clock that can be heard all over the city centre is named 'Great Abel' after him. The main bar area with 6 hand pumps (5 different beers) is a large L-shaped room on the ground floor. The first floor is a restaurant/bar that is not usually used mid-week except for events. Breakfast is available from 9am and main meals from 12noon but the bar is not open for alcohol sales until 11am.
